Internship
June - August 2020

From June to August 2020, I interned remotely with The McCord List. The McCord List is a female empowerment and e-commerce influencer community that's main mission is to empower celebrities, influencers and other 'prenuers overcome obstacles and adversity. The company hosts masterclasses, photoshoots, and more to help women love themselves more and succeed. During my internship, I learned more about the influencer community and its relationship with social media.
Each week I was tasked with creating blog content, finding influencers and brands to collaborate with, assist with Instagram content, and more. The internship program was designed to give me first-hand knowledge of the ever changing world of influencers and build my professional skills. Throughout my internship, I learned about pitching to brands, reaching target markets, and professional outreach. My main focus during my internship was helping plan The Social House events that are put on by The McCord List at the MAGIC Tradeshow hosted in Las Vegas. My responsibilities included finding potential guest speakers, coming up with panel topics, and reaching out to potential guests. Other projects I had the opportunity to help with included launching Rachel's (the founder of the company) podcast, product reviews, and writing ad copies for products she was creating.

With my background in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising (ATM), I was able to succeed in this internship. I was able to apply my knowledge of both the business and creative factors of the industry to all of my tasks. With my knowledge of marketing, design principles, and social media strategies, I completed my tasks with ease. Throughout my internship, I learned about my professional strengths and weaknesses worked hard to improve on them. I learned so much about entrepreneurship and the impact influencers are making in the fashion industry.
