Education

While attending Central Washington University I learned about both the creative and business aspects of this field. I had the opportunity to learn how to use the Adobe Creative Suite and went into depth on how to use InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop effectively. One of my favorite aspects of the Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising program is all of the field experiences. Through my time in the program, I had the opportunity to go to the Maryhill Museum of Art to see the Théâtre de la Mode, meet with apparel companies in Seattle and go to the MAGIC trade show in Las Vegas. These experiences exposed me to the many sides of this amazing industry. Some of the most impactful classes I took were fashion trend analysis, apparel manufacturing, and advanced fashion design. These classes challenged me and pushed my creativity through research and technical work. With the knowledge I gained in each class I took, I feel prepared to succeed in the fashion industry.
